My obsession with these beautiful creatures started when I was about 5 when Father Christmas brought me a bottle of ‘Orangu-tangle-free’ kids shampoo!  I was then introduced to possibly the greatest cartoon of all time - The Jungle Book - and it’s safe to say that the jungle VIP - King Louie, had me hooked!

It just so happens that the great Orang was my dear dad’s favourite animal and I had planned to draw one for him as a gift before he passed away last year. Sadly I didn’t get that chance so this one is really for him, the king of his own jungle - King Derek. And as such - this piece is called ‘Big D’. Or ‘ooobeedooo I wanna be like youuuuu’
